Thinking Skills
6 skills for exploring ideas and finding patterns.
Skills
Thinking skills help you work with the ideas already in your vault. They trace how concepts evolved, find connections you missed, and pressure-test your assumptions. None of them create new content. They reveal what is already there.
| Skill | Command | What It Does |
|---|---|---|
| trace | /trace | Track how an idea evolved over time across the vault |
| connect | /connect | Find unexpected bridges between two topics |
| ghost | /ghost | Answer a question as Maciek, grounded in vault content |
| challenge | /challenge | Pressure-test beliefs, find contradictions |
| drift | /drift | Surface recurring themes you circle without realizing |
| emerge | /emerge | Find idea clusters ready to become projects |
Key Commands
Start with /drift when you feel scattered. It reads across your daily notes and surfaces themes you keep returning to. Follow up with /emerge to see which clusters are dense enough to become real projects. Use /challenge before committing to any major decision.
Related Agents
Thinking skills are available to Cortex during interactive sessions. They are not scoped to any specialist agent because they work across the entire vault, not within a single domain.
